So do you only make skins in Minecraft?

Well, no! I love to build, and I've made a few things in both singleplayer and multiplayer, as well as messing around with textures (as you may notice in a few of the following screenshots)...
Here is a project I entitled "Giant hole in the ground". This was in singleplayer without mods of any kind, and while I didn't quite make it to bedrock I had a good go at it.

This is my first multiplayer project, built on the ausmining.net server - it's a slightly asiatic landowners mansion, built over four levels (including the basement).

Here is the open plan ground floor of the mansion - showing the lovely exposed beams!

Here is the view of the rest of town from the roof - most of the other buildings shown here were built by other members of my town (if fog was turned off you would see Michael's massive reed
I'm jealous of the benchspace in the kitchen of my Minecraft mansion - if only my apartment had this much benchspace (and a dishwasher!)

The rest of the mansion is pretty much finished - the top floor bedrooms needed furnishing, but the kitchen, bathroom, conservatory, billards room, forge/furnace and throne room were all done. I was also working on fencing off the property and landscaping the area around the mansion into a kind of Japanese garden (sand/rock features, gravel paths, and ponds and waterfalls lit from below with glowstone). If nobody kills the map I may just get it done!

Sandy!

Ok here is one more. I discovered it's very difficult to make a necklace of little skulls look anything like that on a minecraft skin. But I always had a soft spot for Sandy so I had to do this skin :)

And here is Tripitaka!

Pretty lady

I haven't made any more Monkey characters yet (although I definitely will, because I haven't made Sandy and I always had a soft spot for Sandy), but I did have another skin that would fit right into the series.

Everybody knows Pigsy likes the ladies... so here is a lady for Pigsy to chase after :)

And later (by request) I made some... er... slightly less clothed pretty ladies! I'm not posting the .png here yet though, as I'm going to sell it to them in-game for gold (they don't know that yet though - hee!)

Minecraft Skins

I've been playing around making some new skins for Minecraft (while the ausmining.net server was down).

This is my favourite one! (Excuse the crappy screenshot - haven't had time to make a proper one)

Feel free to use it if you want to - just be sure you let people know that Trowzers made it :)

What do you do with your junk mail?

No, not the organ enlargement mail you get on the computer - I mean the stuff that gets shoved in your mailbox. You know - Woolworths catalogues, takeaway menus, real estate ads and at certain times of the year stacks of glossy pamphlets with shiny-faced politicians?
Well, for a while I used to cut them all up into seperate colours, and turn them into collages. Like this:

Clicky clicky goodness!

There are some new games on Whirled that I'm really enjoying - Bang! Heroes has finally been released - a cowboy themed scroller with single player and multiplayer options. While there are still some bugs around, the gameplay is smooth and I really like the music and artwork. This is a cut down flash cross-over with the full game, Bang! Howdy, which has many more characters and features, so I'd say there are more features to come for this game.

My other favourite game was not created by Three Rings (the creators of Whirled), but instead by one of the many indie flash developers taking advantage of the Whirled platform to share their games. Emerald Activities new game, Create and Rate, certainly fits in with the Whirled spirit of creativity and player imagination. In it you use premade pieces, which you can colour, pattern and arrange, to make your own picture, which is then rated by your fellow players to see who has made the winning creation. Categories for the game include fashion, horses, dragons, and prehistoric.

I had so much fun with this, either by trying to weird out my fellow players, or completely throw the category and theme out the window (this is in the "Horse" mode game):

Or recreating movie scenes (this is in "Fashion" game mode):

And I think I'll stop there all I'll want to post all of the 20 or so scenes that I liked enough to use the game option that lets me save it to my hard drive. I'll try to embed it below - if you like puzzles and creating things, I recommend you give it a go!
